Our second pregnancy was planned to be a home birth, like our first. When a series of medical complications arose, our home birth was re-named a high risk pregnancy that would end in the hospital. Karen was the only professional that remained constant and caring throughout an uncontrollable turn of events. She was at the hospital within minutes helping me to labor naturally , using techniques that allowed me to let go and breathe. She is the best. She's like a mom. She's like a friend. She gave me the space I needed and she advocated for what I needed. Looking back I cannot imagine Levon's birth without Karen's magical tools and warmth.
